BACKGROUND

 

The Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region Non-Profit Company (K2C BR NPC) invites proposals from experienced Organisational Development Consultants to facilitate a transformative organisational development process. As an organisation, K2C BR NPC is committed to continuous learning, adaptation, and growth to achieve its mission effectively. However, research shows that many change initiatives fail to meet their goals due to systemic challenges. This consultancy aims to address these challenges and position K2C BR NPC for sustainable performance improvement.

 

2. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

 

The primary objective of the Organisational Development Consultant is to address the following critical questions:

  • What factors facilitate or inhibit learning, adaptation, and growth within K2C BR NPC?
  • How can these facilitators be strengthened, and inhibitors mitigated?
  • What are the implications of these findings for achieving sustainable organisational performance? 

3. SCOPE OF WORK

 

The successful consultant will:

 

3.1 Assessment and Analysis

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of K2C BR NPC’s organisational culture, systems, processes, and leadership practices.

• Evaluate communication channels, information flow, and decision-making processes for effectiveness.

• Identify key facilitators and inhibitors of change within the organisation.

 

3.2 Model Development

• Develop a holistic model for fostering an open, transparent environment that supports learning and growth.

• Leverage the Full Dimensional Systems Model or similar approaches to address interrelated domains influencing organisational development.

• Ensure the model integrates all critical domains simultaneously for sustainable performance improvement.

 

3.3 Implementation Planning

• Design a detailed implementation roadmap with clear milestones and timelines.

• Develop metrics to measure progress and success throughout the implementation process.

• Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.

 

3.4 Capacity Building

• Deliver tailored training sessions on change management principles for the K2C BR Management Team.

• Provide tools and frameworks to support ongoing organisational development efforts.

• Build internal capacity to sustain change initiatives beyond the consultancy period.

 

4. DELIVERABLES

 

Proposals should include plans to deliver:

  • A comprehensive organisational assessment report highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • A customised Full Dimensional Systems Model tailored to K2C BR NPC’s needs.
  • A detailed implementation roadmap with timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Training programs and materials designed for K2C BR’s Management Team.
  • An evaluation framework with measurement tools for tracking progress and outcomes.
  • Mid-term progress report and final project report summarising achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. 

5. QUALIFICATIONS

 

The ideal consultant will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in organisational development and change management

• Expertise in the Full Dimensional Systems Model or similar holistic approaches

• Strong facilitation and training skills

• Experience working with nonprofit organisations (preferred)

• Understanding of systems thinking and organisational learning principles

• Excellent analytical and communication skills

 

6. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Proposals should include:

 

6.1 Technical Proposal

• A clear understanding of project requirements and objectives.

• A detailed methodology outlining your approach to achieving project goals.

• A work plan with specific activities, timelines, and deliverables aligned with the scope of work.

• Team composition, qualifications, and relevant experience of key personnel involved in the project.

• Case studies or examples of similar projects successfully completed by your team.

 

6.2 Financial Proposal

• Detailed budget breakdown

• Payment schedule

• Additional costs, if any

 

7. EVALUATION CRITERIA

 

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

• Understanding of K2C BR NPC’s needs (25%)

• Quality and comprehensiveness of proposed approach (30%)

• Relevant experience and expertise (25%)

• Cost effectiveness (20%)

10. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

10.1 CONFIDENTIALITY

• All information exchanged during the RFP process shall be treated as confidential

• Proprietary information must be clearly marked and protected accordingly

• Confidentiality obligations survive the termination of the bidding process

 

10.2 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

• Pre-existing IP remains with its original owner

• New IP developed specifically for this project will belong to the K2C BR NPC

• License terms for any third-party components must be clearly disclosed

• Deliverables must be free from intellectual property infringement

 

10.3 PROPOSAL SUBMISSION

• Proposals must be submitted by the specified deadline

• Late submissions may be disqualified at K2C BR NPC’s discretion

• K2C BR NPC reserves the right to reject any or all proposals

 

10.4 EVALUATION CRITERIA

• Proposals will be evaluated based on the criteria outlined in the RFP

• K2C BR NPC may request clarifications or additional information

• References may be contacted as part of the evaluation process

• Final selection remains at the sole discretion of the K2C BR NPC

 

10.5 CONTRACT TERMS

The successful bidder will be contracted in accordance with:

• Payment schedule tied to clearly defined milestones

• Performance guarantees

• Change management procedures

• Termination clauses (with and without cause)

• Dispute resolution mechanisms

 

10.6 LIABILITIES AND INSURANCE

• The Bidder must maintain appropriate professional liability insurance

• Limitation of liability clauses with reasonable caps

• Force majeure provisions

• Indemnification requirements

 

10.7 COMPLIANCE

• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

• Data protection and privacy requirements

• Industry-specific standards compliance

• Ethical business practices

 

10.8 AMENDMENTS

• The K2C BR NPC reserves the right to amend the RFP

• Any amendments will be communicated to all bidders

• Bidders may withdraw without penalty if amendments materially change requirements.
