Friday 16 May marked a meaningful milestone for the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Region as Dr. John Job chaired his final Board meeting after nine dedicated years of service to the K2C BR NPC.

As a long-time landowner in the Makalali Private Nature Reserve and a deeply committed board member, Dr. Job brought not only governance expertise but also a personal passion for place. His leadership helped embed the values of accountability, collaboration and long-term thinking, laying a strong foundation for those who live, work and thrive within the Biosphere Region.

“My vision was to ensure the K2C Biosphere stands on solid ground to achieve its mission,” reflected Dr. Job during the transition.

Now, as we look to the future, we are excited to welcome Mr. Kevin Leo-Smith as the new Chairperson of the Board. With experience in conservation financing, Kevin brings new perspectives that will inspire our next chapter and empower our growing network of changemakers across the region.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Job for his steadfast service, and warmly welcome Mr. Leo-Smith as he leads K2C into its next chapter.

Together, we continue to build a Biosphere where people and nature may thrive.
